If an item is shipped by UPS, you will pay Wikco.Com for the merchandise and shipping only, and then you will pay UPS for the brokerage fees and GST And HST Taxes. UPS will contact you and you will either specify that you want to use UPS to collect the fees and broker the shipment, or if you receive a lot of packages from the U.S. and have your own broker, then give UPS the name of the customs broker you use. We will broker truck shipments if you would like and you can pay us all fees on truck shipments so the shipment is free and clear to your door. You will pay any GST plus Provincial taxes required plus brokerage fees and shipping. Note: We are required to collect these taxes if we broker the shipment as we have to pay them before the shipment can be released to you. If we broker a shipment you will get charged the correct taxes, but it you don't know how they are calculated, read below. As a reminder to our Canadian Customers, goods shipped from our warehouses in the U.S. to you in Canada will be subject to the following Canadian Taxes, and this is how we will calculate them when we broker your shipment and pay all taxes and fees so the shipment is free and clear when you receive it: GST/HST- All items imported into Canada from the United States are subject to the Canadian Federal Sales Tax called the GST tax which is 5 percent of the total of the merchandise value plus duties, (duties should be zero however on NAFTA items). This tax applies to all Canadian Provinces. Provincial Sales Taxes (PST) are charged in many provinces. In all provinces except Quebec and Prince Edward Island, this tax is charged on the selling price of the item before GST is applied. GST will be charged on the selling price of the item before PST is applied. In Quebec and Prince Edward Island, the provincial sales tax will be charge on the total selling price plus GST. In the list below - Provinces charging HST charge a combined Harmonized Sales Tax. Instead of charging GST and a Provincial Sales Tax, only one tax is charged at the rate shown below. Provincial Sales Tax Rates are as follows: British Colombia - 7 percent; Alberta - no PST; Saskatchewan - 5 percent; Manitoba - 7 percent; Ontario - 8 percent; Quebec - 7.5 percent (see note on calculation above); New Foundland And Labrador - 13 percent (HST - see below); Nova Scotia - 13 percent (HST -total combined tax); New Brunswick - 13 percent (HST - total combined tax); Prince Edward Island - 10 percent (see note on calculation above); Northwest Territories - No PST; Nunavut - No PST; Yukon - No PST.
