Rotomec 3 Point Mount PTO Powered Rotary Tiller

The Rotomec Rotary Tiller is a rugged three point hitch machine with an extremely simple and functional side shift at no additional charge. The model we have available is model 142-231 which has a tilling width of 42 inches, and is designed to mount on tractors from 18 to 40 hp, with a category 1 three point hitch and a 540 rpm pto. The tiller has a manually operated 10 inch side shift.

The Rotomec Rotary Tiller is a sturdy, versitile tiller that offers many money saving features and is ideal for use by farmers, landscape contractors, vegetable growers, nurseries, orchards, and vineyards. Features include: rugged gearbox, telescopic safety shielding, hinged adjustable heavy guaged tail gate, solid steel center shaft, full size knives, wear protection chain case cover, adjustable depth control skids, and exchangeable sprockets for 2 rotor speeds.

The manual side-shift system is extremely simple and easy to use. All models are equipped with a lever to shift the 3 pt. hitch, and the gearbox, along the glides mounted to the frame. This feature allows the Rotomec Tiller to work not only in a center position, but also in a side shifted one in order to operate closer to plants, bushes, sidewalks, and if necessary, to cover one of the two tractor wheels.

The transmission is chain driven in a grease bath. The PTO shaft is equipped with a shear pin safety. A slip clutch is available as an option. Telescopic safety guard and folding support stand are standard.

• Maximum working depth is 7 1/4 inches



• Has 5 flanges with 4 blades each (total of 20 tilling blades)



• Tiller rpm is either 231 or 375 depending upon how the sprockets are installed (sprockets are reversible)



• Drive line has shear pin protection standard, slip clutch protection is obstacle







• Built-in manual side shift: ROTOMEC tillers feature a built-in manual side shift system that allows operator to either keep the tiller center mounted behind the tractor, like a traditional unit, or offset the tiller to the right of the tractor. This is particularly beneficial when trying to till over the right tractor tire and closer to obstacles.



• Forward or reverse tilling rotation: ROTOMEC tillers may be set up with either a forward or reverse rotating rotor. When the rotor rotates forward the tiller will have a tendency to bury the rocks while when the tiller rotates backwards it will have a tendency to bring any rocks to the surface.







• Gearbox manufactured by ROTOMEC: Unlike other manufacturers who purchase gearboxes from outside suppliers, we build our own gearbox in-house using high strength steel for its gears and top of the line bearings and seals.



• ASA 80 Chain drive: Lateral ASA 80 chain drive transmission in oil bath. Our chain transmissions are oversized specifically to avoid any downtime due to maintenance. Our Chain transmissions also offer over 180° gear coverage resulting in a smoother and better distributed power transmission.



• Reversible sprockets: ROTOMEC tillers are equipped with reversible sprockets that allow you obtain two tillage speeds: Standards speed is 231 rpm, Increased speed is 375 rpm.







• Rotor supports: Rotor supports are made out of stamped steel.



• Flanged rotor shaft: The flanged rotor shaft allows operator to quickly disassemble the rotor from the tiller for easy and comfortable blade service and replacement.



• Side skids with Infinite adjustments: Side skids allow for tiller depth adjustment to be set anywhere from 0" to 7 1/4".



• WARNING: When using a quick hitch on a PTO driven implement, always ensure there is proper overlap prior to use. If there is not the minimum 6" overlap, do not use. Contact your dealer to purchase a longer driveline.
